Home-Start Wyre Forest started in 1995 as Kidderminster had a growing need for parent-to-parent support to help prevent families from breakdown.
To help give children the best possible start in life, Home-Start supports parents as they:

Grow in confidence

Strengthen their relationships with their children

Widen their links with the local community.
We support an average of 400 children in 200 families every single year.
HOW IT WORKS
From initial contact all the way through to receiving the support you need, here's our process all laid out.

Contact Us
You can contact us for support, or you can refer a family for Home-Start Wyre Forest using our Contact Form.

Home Visit
We will then coordinate a date and time for a home visit, at which time we will complete a review of your needs. This allows us to provide the best help possible.

Waitlist
You will then be added to a short-waitlist. Whilst we can't guarantee a time-period, we aim to provide an update within a month.

Support
Following a home visit, you will be able to access the support of Home-Start Wyre Forest. This can look like Family Groups or being assigned to a volunteer.

TYPES OF FAMILY GROUPS
DAYTIME
Every Tuesday 1:00pm to 2:30pm
Trinity Methodist Church, Kidderminster, DY10 2JL
Pre-School Aged Children Only
Do you have children 0-5 years? If so you are very welcome to attend our daytime Family Group.
The group is a safe place to meet, for children to play and socialise with other pre-schoolers and for parents to gain support, make friends and relax.
AFTER SCHOOL
Every Tuesday 3:15pm to 4:45pm

School Aged Children Only
Our groups offer a safe place to meet and form friendships and have an after school snack with other families, Home-Start volunteers and staff.
Support can be given with homework and reading and families can join in optional craft activities.
Please note: Any main carer can attend our groups with children on a regular or occasional basis. All our groups are closed groups and all people attending must be current Home-Start families.

Our staff team recruit, support and supervise the volunteer team, carry out needs assessments with families, co-ordinate appropriate support and manage the operational delivery of the service.

Our multidisciplinary team of Directors volunteer their time to govern the scheme and employ the staff team. The Directors also provide guidance in the areas of safeguarding and finance.
Safe & Stronger
Struggling with your mental health? A past trauma? Domestic abuse?
Safe & Stronger is our community psychology service which offers one-to-one therapy for the parents or children who are part of our program.
